In a recent survey performed by J Turner Research, it was found that the number one amenity renters are looking for is some peace and quiet after a hard day at work. But is that true of millennials? While the results don’t show that noise is the biggest factor in a millennial’s decision when searching for an apartment, it does rank high on their list with score of 8.5 out of 10.

The survey was performed as part of Multifamily Executive’s insight into lifestyle preferences as ranked by different generations: millennials, Gen Xers, Baby Boomers, and the Silent Generation. Of the 27,642 respondents, the majority were millennials making up 53 percent of the results, followed by Gen Xers at 27 percent.

The survey also found that the majority of the respondents (51%) see themselves buying a house in the next five years, with most of those being millennials (61%). When it comes to on-site gyms, most residents are looking for a large gym, open 24-hours, and with a variety of modern exercise equipment to help them stay in shape.
