Students travelling abroad often have a hard time finding suitable housing, especially for the short time they are going to be in another country. In today’s sharing culture, it’s not odd to find a person renting his or her spare bedroom to strangers on Airbnb, so why not take that mindset to the student-housing sector? That’s where Housing Anywhere comes in – a site similar to Airbnb that connects people looking to sublease their student housing during a semester abroad.
The company, started by Niels van Deuren when he was looking for housing while in Singapore, requires students to log in with a verified student email address and is sponsored by many universities, mostly in Europe. The purpose is to connect students to one another as they are looking to sublease their current apartments and take over another one for a short period of time.
